ASCLD Recognizes Anna Heavey with the 2025 Forensic Research Committee Innovation Award

GARNER, N.C. - May 23, 2025 - PRLog -- e American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) proudly announces Anna Heavey from Curtin University, Bentley, Perth, Western Australia, as the recipient of the 2025 Forensic Research Committee (FRC) Innovation Award.

Henry Maynard, Chair of the Forensic Research Committee, presented the award in absentia during the 2025 ASCLD Symposium held in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Heavey's project, "Development of A Standardized Classification System for Quality Issues in Forensic Science," highlights major advancements in forensic science.

About the ASCLD Forensic Research Committee Innovation Award

The Forensic Research Committee Innovation Award recognizes outstanding contributions that introduce new technologies, protocols, or tools impacting operational forensic science laboratories. The award is open to scientists from various forensic disciplines, including bio/DNA, drug chemistry, toxicology, fingerprints, questioned documents, trace/microscopy, and firearms/toolmarks, who have completed their work within the past two years.
