The film just finished an impressive run in Alpena, MI where much of the film was shot. The story is about a conflict between WW1 vets and the Purple Gang. The 'Purples' ran 80% of the illegal liquor in the US and were known for their violent ways. The screenplay was adapted by DJ Perry who also supervised production. Carl Weyant directs the action packed film with beautiful camera work by Travis Hayward. The film's most recognizable star Don Most (Happy Days) gives a powerful and shockingly intense performance as the head of the Purple Gang. The film will open with the Celebration Cinemas in Lansing, Grand Rapids (North) and Muskegon on May 16th playing for the weekend. Several cast and crew from around the state will be in attendance and several afterglows with a 20's theme are being planned. On May 17th the NCG Theater Group will kick off a run until the 21st in Owosso, MI. Calling your theater and requesting the film does help. The film will be traveling soon to Detroit followed by cities across the midwest before playing the coasts. This 'Made in the USA' film is about history and making sure that certain events are not forgotten. The Purple Gang has history all over the country but the once known and feared organization has slowly faded into the background. This film will bring audiences roaring back into a time nearly forgotten. The company used buildings, boats, planes and cars (Fords) all over 100 years old and functional. This film is a good reason to return to the theaters. Alpena had several sold out shows as people responded enthusiastically to the unique story. Some have already seen the film 3 or 4 times bringing family and friends to experience this story on the big screen! CDI hopes you and yours will also attend a screening to celebrate this amazing story. TRAILER PREVIEW: https://youtu.be/ End
