Red Letter Awards Rolls Out New Nominations for 'Harsens Island Revenge'

LANSING, Mich. - May 20, 2025 - PRLog -- In 2023 CDI's 'Silent Night in Algona,' a WW2 home-front drama about German PW's won the Red Letter Award for 'Best Picture' (Dir. by Anthony Hornus) and 'Best Screenplay' (DJ Perry). Now in 2025 CDI's new release 'Harsens Island Revenge' has already been nominated for 'Best Picture' and 'Best Actor' (David Reardon). They continue to roll out nominations and it was just announced that DJ Perry is again nominated for 'Best Screenplay'  and director Carl Weyant is nominated for 'Best Director' in the 1920's story that puts WW1 veterans versus the murderous Purple Gang over bootlegging.

The film started their theatrical roll out in Alpena, MI and ran for two weeks selling out several shows. The film just started playing various cities in Michigan and New England while adding new locations weekly with their theatrical rep Dreamscape Productions. The film will continue to play theatrically across the US until Oct. 1st when the film is slated for home video release on DVD and streaming with Bridgestone Multimedia Group.

The film was adapted from a book of the same name by Karl Manke. This marks the second book by author Karl Manke adapted to a screenplay and filmed. The first was the film 'Best Years Gone' adapted by DJ Perry from the book 'Hope From Heaven' available now on streaming platforms worldwide.

Director Carl Weyant and screenwriter DJ Perry met while co-starring in a film together in Otty, India in 2006. Now almost 20 years later they have created this amazing story a monument to their longstanding friendship.
