NAPLES, Fla. - May 23, 2024 - PRLog -- Healthcare Network hosted a groundbreaking on May 21 that signals the start of construction for its future Orangetree Community Health Center in the north-central region of Collier County.

The $15-million, two story medical complex will ensure that more than 41,000 residents in the Orangetree area, including Golden Gate Estates, will have access to high-quality medical care. The once-rural region is now one of Southwest Florida's fastest-growing areas, but it remains a "healthcare desert" without any health clinics or medical centers.

"From Collier Boulevard and Immokalee Road, all the way to Ave Maria, there are no doctors," said Jamie Ulmer, president and CEO of Healthcare Network. "For far too long, the Orangetree community has not had access to critical, essential medical services."

Nearly 100 donors, community leaders and project partners attended the groundbreaking event, including Collier County Commissioners Burt Saunders and William McDaniel, and Florida State Rep. Lauren Melo. Florida Sen. Kathleen Passidomo, who along with Melo helped secure project funding, was unable to attend the event.

Construction is estimated to be complete in the spring of 2025. The Orangetree Community Health Center will offer obstetrics and gynecology, primary medical, dental and integrated behavioral health services for children and adults, a drive-thru pharmacy, a basic lab and X-ray services.

Healthcare Network has raised about $8 million through state allocations and donor support. For more information about the Orangetree Community Health Center or to make a donation to Healthcare Network's Capital Campaign, please visit HealthcareSWFL.org/Orangetree.
