TOMS RIVER, N.J. - Feb. 6, 2024 - PRLog -- The HOPE Center in Toms River shares its achievements and milestones of the past year in its 2023 Year in Review. With immense gratitude to its supportive community, The HOPE Center has been able to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals and families facing crisis.

The HOPE Center reached new heights in 2023, assisting a remarkable 36,440 men, women and children, reflecting a substantial 57 percent increase from the previous year. "The dedication of our community members played a pivotal role in making this possible, and we eagerly anticipate the opportunities and challenges that 2024 will bring," said Amy VanBezooijen of The HOPE Center.

In 2023, The HOPE Center:

• Distributed 359,372 pounds of food through its full-service, client-choice pantry, ensuring that community members had access to essential nourishment.
• Expanded its outreach, welcoming 1,079 new clients and families, underscoring the organization's commitment to inclusivity and support for those in need.
• Collaborated to serve 400 meals through Operation BBQ Relief, fostering a sense of community and connection through shared meals.
• Assisted 43 households with transportation, removing barriers and enabling community members to access crucial services.
• Provided warmth during the colder months by distributing 417 winter coats, 111 blankets, 279 hats, 177 scarves, and 41 gloves/mittens.
• Offered financial support with $5,620 in gift cards, aiding families in meeting their unique and immediate needs.
• Shared joy during the holidays by donating 69 Easter baskets and providing over 2,322 gifts/toys to 258 children for Christmas.
• Extended a helping hand with 134 nights of emergency shelter, 660 nights of shelter through rental assistance, and 4 months of utility assistance (gas, water and electric).

Year-over-year statistics reveal a 29 percent increase in food distribution and a 58 percent rise in new clients/families, showcasing The HOPE Center's growing impact on the community.
