Tyner is the founder of the nonprofit organization Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI). The organization is committed to community building across the African Diaspora. These efforts include promoting cultural preservation through the arts and humanities. In addition, PPGJLI seeks to inspire the next generation of leaders by supporting literacy initiatives and hosting an annual youth leadership summit in Ghana.
