Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute Partners with FORTIFY (Hennepin County)

MINNEAPOLIS - Oct. 2, 2025 - PRLog -- Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI), in partnership with FORTIFY (Hennepin County), is proud to announce a community engagement and education event focused on climate resilience and reducing household energy burden. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 11, from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Lutunji's Palate in Minneapolis (1400 Park Ave South).

The gathering will bring together residents, community leaders, and partners for a conversation about the challenges of energy burden—when families spend a disproportionate share of their income on energy costs—and the opportunities to build community-based climate adaptation strategies that make neighborhoods stronger, healthier, and more equitable.

Participants will gain practical tips for reducing energy costs, learn about local resources, and explore strategies for building resilience in the face of extreme weather and other climate impacts. The event is part of a broader effort to ensure that communities most affected by energy and climate challenges are centered in decision-making and solution-building.
