Pitbulls are wonderful animals and have a "bad rap," and this event offers a way to celebrate and honor their true nature, educating the public and helping those in need. Many times per year Protect the Pitties sponsors the adoption fees for dogs at the Chatham County Animal Resource Center.

Winnie was the only source of unconditional love I had, and her love helped me love me. Winnie saved me just by being this goofy, velcro puppy… I don't think I could ever find another like her, but if I ever have to try, it'll be with another pittie." Samantha S. Volunteer at LPAH.org

"According to the latest ATTS breed temperament test data, the breeds that are commonly classified as the modern pitbull-type breeds continue to achieve excellent temperament scores - scoring in the top 23% of all breeds and higher than 100 of the 130 breeds tested. Not only do pitbull-type dogs consistently achieve excellent temperament scores, they are successful as service dogs, therapy dogs, K9 police dogs, and as family pets." www.pitbullinfo.org/pit-bulls-myths-and-facts.html
