Hope Spring completes seventh clean water project of the year

LONDON - Sept. 20, 2023 - PRLog -- Hope Spring, a Herefordshire-based charity that fights water poverty, recently announced the completion of their seventh clean water project of the year. On Friday, September 8, the charity provided information on the project in a blog post on their website. It was a borehole built in the Nigerian community of Agege's Atobaje. https://www.hopespring.org.uk, a nearby NGO, and the neighborhood community organization each contributed a portion of the project's funding.

More than forty homes and the nearby primary school are anticipated to receive service from the recently built borehole. The facility can provide water to seven persons at once thanks to its six standpipes and one larger pipe for those who want to stand with their water collection bucket on their heads.

It took six weeks to finish the task. Before drilling got started, like with all borehole and well projects, a geophysical study was conducted to determine the ideal location for the borehole.

After the drilling and piping were finished, a brief ceremony was organized to turn the project back to the neighborhood. The borehole will be managed on a daily basis by the community through the water committee it established. On the day the project was turned over to the community, thousands of liters of water had been collected.
