Places SECOND in the 2022 Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking, August 20, 2022, Nashville, Tennesee, USA

Alexandre Matte, representing District 123 (central, north and northeast Ontario) from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, has placed Second in the Toastmasters International World Championship of Public Speaking (WCPS), 2022. Over 50,000 competitors began the competition in January 2022, culminating in 3 top winners. at the Toastmasters International Convention.

In his winning speech, "Winning Ingredient", Alexandre speaks about "Tradition", his family's annual summer reunion, his Grandmaman's no-bake cake, and the traditions that hold people together and the changing world around them. "The no-bake cake is a symbol of those we loved and those we lost and it's also really good!" Alexandre asks us "What Do you want to hold together? Your Family? Your Community? Your Social Group? Alexandre leaves us with a reminder that traditions hold us together.

The WCPS showcases speaking skills that transform lives. Alexandre is joined in the winners' circle by the first-place winner, Cyril Junior Dim, originally from Zimbabwe, representing Eastern Europe from Poland to Europe, and the third-place winner, Mas Mahathir Bin Mohamad, representing Malaysia..
