"It was through my father's influence that I started engaging in community more than forty years ago. How wonderful that Toastmasters reaches out to include such recognition." Carnegie's communication achievements include co-founding two charitable organizations -- The Carnegie Initiative for Acceptance and Inclusion in Hockey and the Herbert H. Carnegie Future Aces Foundation which implemented youth character development initiatives in hundreds of Ontario schools. She recently made history by becoming a part owner in the first BIPOC ownership of the women's pro hockey team, Toronto Six, Premier Hockey Federation. "This award honours a non-Toastmaster who has made substantial contributions to the well-being of the local community in the areas of communications and leadership.
