Classic 107.3 Appoints Julie Schuster as Acting GM

ST. LOUIS - March 31, 2022 - PRLog -- Julie Schuster, longtime Classic 107.3 radio broadcaster, is now Acting General Manager of Classic 107.3, "The Voice for the Arts in St. Louis".

With more than 25 years of nonprofit experience, Julie Schuster has worked for Classic 107.3 since 2013 as a host, producer, and social media director. Earlier this year, Julie was selected to be the regular on-air morning host of the station.

"Classic 107.3 is committed to providing outstanding programming and supporting all of the arts for the benefit of our Saint Louis community. I look forward to enhancing – and expanding – our partnerships with local arts and cultural organizations," Julie said.

Julie succeeds John Clare, who became the station manager in 2019 and resigned in March.

Chair of the Board of Directors, James L. Nouss, Jr. adds, "We are thrilled that Julie has agreed to serve as Acting GM. She has been a valued member of the Classic 107.3 team for many years, and has strong connections to the St. Louis arts community through her award-winning work for the station."

About Julie Schuster
Julie's career in media began at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she earned a degree in journalism. She wrote for her hometown daily newspaper, the Quincy Herald-Whig, spent four years as the publications coordinator for the Chicago Botanic Garden, served as a community columnist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, and was a broadcaster for the Minnesota State Services for the Blind for fourteen years. Julie has served on the board of the Artist Presentation Society and recently joined the board of the Missouri Chamber Music Festival; she is a member of the Alliance for Women in Media. In 2021, Julie received two awards from the Missouri Broadcasters Association for her work at Classic 107.3, including one for Attuned (a podcast series that she created, wrote, hosted, and produced).

In addition to classical compositions, Classic 107.3 plays chamber, choral, symphonic, jazz and blues music; opera; and Broadway show tunes. Classic 107.3 created the award-winning Musical Ancestries™ program to teach school-aged children about their musical and cultural heritage; the broadcasts are voiced by local students and educational resources accompany each episode.
