-- Employee satisfaction matters. That's the bottom line from the Acorn subject matter experts' latest piece which examines what influences employee satisfaction and how to measure it. Employee satisfaction is the feeling of accomplishment an employee derives from fulfilling the tasks and responsibilities of their role. Employee satisfaction makes for not only more productive employees, but employees that are more likely to stay and progress through the organisation. Typically work environment, job content and job opportunities are the biggest factors affecting satisfaction.
Surveys are determined to be the best tool for measuring satisfaction. They primarily need to encompass questions which address workplace culture, management and the job itself. To be effective for improving satisfaction, the data provided by surveys will need to be carefully analysed and compared over time.
"Employees want to know their opinion and experiences matter, but no one wants to be filling out paperwork – which can feel tedious and invite incomplete answers," said Blake Proberts (Co-Founder and Managing Director).
"An LMS can administer surveys so that employees can fill them out at home, on the way to work or on their lunch break. Surveys are stored and delivered from one central repository, making it easier on the admin end to analyse trends and see the effects of engagement strategies over time."
