The History

Firstly, let's cover the history aspect first. Originally in cars, the "sunroof" was known to be panels located on the roof of the car that had to be manually taken out and put back in. As time has evolved, these now electric sliding windows have made the process much easier.

In the original design, there were a few design flaws. This includes that if you were driving with your panels out and it started to rain, you would have to pull over and manually insert them back in before your whole car interior got soaked. Secondly, another flaw was that if you had ever forgot to insert your panels back in, it was common for theft to happen as your vehicle was then easy to steal from. As you can see, this old design was not the greatest planned.
