Glycoprotein Staining Assay Kit

For the staining and detection of glycoproteins on a PVDF or nitrocellulose membrane

MILPITAS, Calif. - Feb. 22, 2021 - PRLog -- BioVision's Glycoprotein Staining Kit is designed for the staining and detection of glycoproteins on a PVDF or nitrocellulose membrane using the periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) method. The kit provides all the necessary reagents needed to specifically stain the glycoproteins separated by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and transferred to a nitrocellulose or PVDF membrane. The glycoproteins are detected as magenta bands against a colorless background. The kit contains sufficient reagents for staining up to 20 membranes (6 x 9 cm) and can detect as low as 0.5 µg of native glycoproteins.

Glycoprotein staining using various amounts of native glycoprotein (10, 5, 2.5, 1 and 0.5 µg respectively). For deglycosylation, 10 µg of glycoprotein (BioVision Cat# P1172) was treated with 0.1 mU of PNGase F (BioVision Cat# P1598) for 2 hr at 37 °C.
