Rock and Roll 101 features 'Perseverance' this week on SKY 7
Weekly two-hour music history show spotlights artists who took an unusually long time between their first and second hit records.
By: SKY 7
On this installment from 2018, your host Daniel the Musicologist presents examples of perseverance -- groups and singers who took their good time between hit number one, and hit number two. We're talking about years here.
The lineup for the first hour includes Bob Seger, Dobie Gray, the Sir Douglas Quintet, Al Wilson, Sugarloaf, The Irish Rovers, Frank Mills, and Johnny Cymbal. "Hello I Love You" is the Cover of the Week, we'll go Album Tracking with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and the Vintage Tunedex spotlights Billboard's Top Ten for the week of Dec. 7, 1974.
Upcoming shows include a two-hour special on The British Invasion (Jan. 24) and The Day The Music Died (Jan. 31).
Rock and Roll 101 airs every Sunday at 6 p.m. (reboot at 8 p.m.) Mountain Standard Time. To listen, log on to http://www.sky7music.com and click on the Classic Hits and Awesome Variety channel.
