Panchakarma Therapies & Treatment in Ayurvedic plays an important role for introducing Ayurvedic medicine to westerners. Both Yoga and Panchakrama have been a medium for Ayurveda in North America, since I arrived in the USA over 40 years ago. Can the IMA offer similar therapies like Indian Yoga, Meditation and Panchakarma of Ayurvedic medicine to westerners?
Chinese people and their doctors are proud of their Chinese Medicine, Chinese herbal products, Acupuncture, yet many people from India (including many Indian Medical doctors) were brainwashed by the British with their acceptance of modern Western English medicine. The downplay of Ayurveda, our own system of medicine by IMA is disheartening.
IMA must respect India's great traditional system of Ayurvedic Medicine. IMA must encourage and get involved in promoting Ayurvedic medical science in India. Ayurveda is our cultural heritage and an asset to India. India is earning foreign revenues from exporting Ayurvedic supplements and it is growing rapidly.
India has over 400 Ayurvedic Colleges and Universities. Ayurvedic BAMS graduates must get the same status like MBBS in every States and Central Govt. The Director of Ayurveda in each State must be a qualified Ayurvedic scholar to oversee the science, education, dispensaries and pharmacies in Ayurvedic medicine. The Ayurveda & Yoga business is over 15 billion dollars and IMA is going kill it?
This must be stopped by the Government, the people of India, and the IMA of my native land, INDIA!
