Widening the avenue of free expression

MADISON, Wis. - Nov. 30, 2020 - PRLog -- In unequivocal support for free speech and expression, Something Or Other Publishing proudly announces the launch of the Laurania Press publishing imprint, with conservative British politician Anne Marie Waters as the first featured author.

Laurania Press will provide an unbiased platform for writers who might otherwise be silenced, misrepresented, or mislabeled.

Waters is one such prominent public figure. Her newest book, In Defense of Democracy, will be the inaugural publication under the Laurania Press imprint, which SOOP envisions as a fair and unfiltered outlet for some of today's most insightful and outspoken conservative thinkers and writers. In Defense of Democracy lays out Waters' concise and compelling arguments for how true democracy represents far more than just the right to vote, and why it is currently under threat on multiple fronts. SOOP also published Waters' previous controversial and popular book, Beyond Terror: Islam's Slow Erosion of Western Democracy.

"Censorship in the 21st Century West is a great political scandal," Waters said. "Unpublished, banned television shows, and de-platformed speakers are the norm — they no longer surprise us."

Explaining the motivating passion behind her latest work and the inception of Laurania Press, she added, "Democracy cannot survive without free speech, and sadly we are losing both. The publishing imprint will launch on November 30, the birthday of legendary British statesman Winston Churchill. Its name is derived from Churchill's novel, Savrola: A Tale of the Revolution in Laurania, set in the fictional nation of Laurania.
