SOMERVILLE, Mass. - Aug. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Noteworthy Sheet Music, LLC (NSM) is an online sheet music publisher with a catalog of ~180 editions. NSM specializes in sheet music for flute and alto flute. They offer original works by distinguished contemporary composers, re-notated versions or facsimiles of rare historical scores, and unique transcriptions of pieces from the classical repertoire.  Selected NSM publications are offered as professionally-printed hard copy editions, and most are available as convenient pdf downloads from the NSM website.  NSM also offers a small selection of choice CD's, including A Rite for All Souls.

On October 31, 1971, in the midst of a turbulent period in American history, The Mark Harvey Group gave a trailblazing concert—A Rite for All Souls—in the sanctuary of Boston's historic Old West Church. The event was a bold aural theatre production, presented by ensemble members Mark Harvey (brass) and Peter H. Bloom (woodwinds), along with their percussion colleagues Craig Ellis and Michael Standish, both now deceased.  The long-lost recording of that performance was recently rediscovered and released as a 2-CD set last month on the Americas Musicworks label (Rebecca DeLamotte, managing director).  The recording has received outstanding reviews from The New York City Jazz Record, All About Jazz, The Boston Globe, and The Vinyl District, among others.

The A Rite for All Souls 2-CD set is distributed by Noteworthy Sheet Music.  To order your copy, or to learn more about the 1971 concert, watch a 2-minute video preview of the CD, and read reviews of the recording, please visit https://www.noteworthysheetmusic.com/cds/734-cd-a-rite-for-all-souls.

On Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 7 PM, jazz writer Bob Blumenthal will interview ground-breaking musicians Mark Harvey and Peter H. Bloom and play excerpts from A Rite for All Souls.  This virtual event is being held to celebrate the CD release and will be live-streamed on Zoom; it is free, but advance registration is required.  For additional information about The Mark Harvey Group and to access a link to register for the Zoom event, visit the Americas Musicworks website at http://www.americasmusicworks.com/mark-harvey-group.html.
