The finales of three of those quartets are fugues that set the standard for contrapuntal texture in quartets. John W. Pratt has recently arranged the fugue from Haydn's Op.20 No.2 for a flute quartet consisting of two concert flutes, alto flute and bass flute. The movement is energetic, offers a nice distribution of activity among the parts, and is fun to play.
