AdvisorSmith's Finds the Industries with the Most Diverse Workforce

NEW YORK - Aug. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- AdvisorSmith, a leading resource that produces original research on small businesses and the economy, released a study that found the top 25 most ethnoracially diverse industries in America.

AThe study used data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to examine 278 industries. It analyzed the composition of the workforce in the four ethnoracial categories: White, Black or African American, Asian, and Hispanic and Latino origin. From the analysis, AdvisorSmith assigned each industry a diversity score based on the percentage of workers who identified with each category.

The most diverse industry was the taxi and limousine industry, which also includes rideshare drivers. In the U.S., there are 703,000 employed taxi, rideshare, and limousine drivers. Drivers in the industry identified as 25 percent White, 29 percent Black or African American, 15 percent Asian, and 23 percent Hispanic or Latino.
