Valet operators pivot to include bag checking for new revenue stream

PLANO, Texas - June 1, 2020 - PRLog -- TEZ announces new bag check module, TEXT4BAGS, at International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) virtual conference. This module works with SMS Valet, the ticketless valet parking solution used by operators to manage valet.

TEXT4BAGS allows those valet operators using SMS Valet a new way to enhance their service offerings and recoup revenue lost during lockdown. App-less, cashless, SMS Valet allows operators replaces paper tickets at the valet stand by using customer cell phones to text a digital ticket, but this new module enables valet attendants to morph effortlessly into bag checkers, too.

"There are a few software platforms available to manage valet operations, but none of them have TEXT4BAGS. This feature allows operators a whole new revenue stream in a platform they already have," said Chief Revenue Officer Steve Resnick (REZ@TEZ). "TEXT4BAGS can be used as a standalone solution or in tandem with SMS Valet. Operators can enhance their valet service by offering it, but hotels managing their own valet operations can use the platform with the module to also manage hotel porterage, too."

Just like valet parking service, TEXT4BAGS module allows two-way text communication with guests. The process is simple: Guests arrive and checks their bags, and a valet attendant requests phone number (and tags all bags) and enters them in the system. Guests get a digital ticket, and they can pay and tip online. It's a touch-free, cashless bag check system that gives operators more accountability over the traditional bag check process--and another revenue stream.

Not just contactless for valet parking industry

"The platform offers so much more than managing car parking," said Resnick. "SMS Valet supports E-Validations, two-way communication, and parkers can even tip through the platform. All TEZ platforms have data-driven reporting that enables more transparent operations."
