By: Hinckley Chamber of Commerce

BRUNSWICK, Ohio - Feb. 26, 2020 - PRLog -- In 1957, the same year John Glenn Jr. became the first pilot to average supersonic speed flying between New York City and Los Angeles in just three hours and twenty-three minutes, Hinckley, Ohio celebrated its first Buzzard Day. This will be one of the last pancake breakfasts at the old Hinckley Elementary School.

"Official" Buzzard Day and the 63rd Annual Buzzard Sunday both take place on March 15, 2020. The colorful community scholarship fundraiser brings back popular attractions: Buzzard Spotting, live buzzard educational presentations, and boy scout camp, all at Brongers Park by Town Hall.

Western Reserve Plumbing, Borden Dairy, Pam Rybka/ReMax and other local sponsors are providing material and manpower resources, which have helped the Hinckley Chamber of Commerce add a third One-Thousand Dollar scholarship for Hinckley residents.  Chamber Sponsors volunteering hundreds of man hours to set up the event include S&S Heating & Cooling, DMK Party Rentals, Precision Market Services, Ackmera Custom Apparel, Hinckley Women's Club, Millennium Rehabilitation, Minnehaha Water Outlet, and AAA Medina.

All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast
Kick off the day's festivities with a hearty breakfast of world-famous buzzard blend 5-Star Sausage, juice, coffee and endless pancakes. Served from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hinckley Elementary School, 1586 Center Road in Hinckley, Ohio, the cost is $8.00 for adults; $5.00 for children 10 and older.

Stroll & Shop
Walk off breakfast at the Craft Fair in the school gym, offering handcrafted gifts, accessories, jewelry, soaps and lotions. No admission fee.

Buzzards! Besties! Balloons! Oh My!
Town Hall and Brongers Park are the site of buzzard spotting, a live buzzard display and animals galore! Find Nate the Great tying balloons, silent auction baskets, and Outback Ray's exotic animal friends from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

John Burke's gripping historical tales will be told at 1:00 in the Senior Room, also at Town Hall. Look forward to games, prizes, snacks and surprises sponsored by other local businesses.

Firemen's Hot Diggity Dog Fundraiser
Hinckley's fire fighters are serving up more than safety – they'll be selling hot dogs, chips and pop to raise funds for Hinckley fire fighters' operations.
