CDI's 'Man's Best Friend' Movie Pays Homage to 'Working Dogs'

LANSING, Mich. - Nov. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- Canines have, for decades, been vital team members for U.S military men and women in war zones and other dangerous, oftentimes clandestine locales around the world.

The same holds true for the essential role specially-trained service dogs play in law enforcement operations and acting as companions for persons with emotional (PTSD, TBI, clinical depression) and physical challenges (loss of limbs or mobility).

And of course, there are millions of dog owners in America (and the world) who bring these four- legged 'fur babies' into their families and daily lives to share love, companionship and quality of life enrichment.

This week's news that a Belgian Malinois (a breed favored for sensitive missions by the U.S. Military and law enforcement) played a key role in helping U.S. Special Operators bring down a 'Most Wanted' terrorist, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, has brought to the forefront of public consciousness the value of these devoted, highly skilled/intelligent animals.

A Belgian Malinois also accompanied U.S. Navy SEALS on the mission that killed Osama bin Laden.

And now, coincidentally for Veteran's Day observances on Nov. 11, the feature film from Lansing (Mich)-based Collective Development Incorporated (CDI), 'Man's Best Friend,' starts its roll out into select theaters nationwide.

'Man's Best Friend,' from its sold out World Premiere screenings at NCG Cinemas in Owosso, Mich, in Sept., to audiences who've viewed the film on streaming (Amazon Prime) or DVD (Target.com, Amazon.com), is playing to rave reviews from press critics and in social media accolades alike.

The story follows decorated Marine Corps veteran and wounded warrior (PTSD and TBI), Paul Landings (DJ Perry), and his German Shepherd partner, 'Bart,' from the killing fields of Afghanistan to Paul's 10-year effort to adjust to civilian life in his small home town.

The only thing that keeps Paul from self-destruction, and sadly like so many veterans battling PTSD, are the dogs he brings home from the animal shelter where he works. To save them from being euthanized.

'Man's Best Friend' was written by Mr. Perry and is directed by Anthony Hornus.
It also stars Don Most ('Happy Days') and Tim Abell ('We Were Soldiers'), who is a former U.S. Army Ranger.

The film is distributed by Bridgestone Multimedia Group and MyCinema.
