Growing up in St Louis in a real estate family that owned 3 buildings of 4 units each, Darren was introduced to the business early.  After going the corporate route out of college for more than a decade, HGTV got him interested in real estate.  He tried to buy and renovate a house that he lived in and soon ended up seeking out a training system and a coach to learn how to run his business as a business and a hobby.  He even spent 6 years helping his coaching team coach while growing his own business and rental portfolio in St Louis, with systems that did not require him being there all the time.  Today, his investment strategy is the BRRRR (Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat) method and is on track to put his 100th rental unit into service in 2020.  He joins us at MAREI to share how he uses his Self Directed IRA and 401k as well as partnering with accounts of others to acquire and hold those rental houses.
