Follow on Google News | The most affordable Avenger now gets a lower-displacement motor, and why? – Read on to find outDespite a smaller 160cc motor, the Avenger Street 160 produces similar power and torque in respect to the model it replaces. We swung our leg over the latest Avenger, here's what it's like.
By: autoX So, why a 160? You see, upgrading the Avenger 180 to meet the stringent norms that come into effect from April 2019 would have been a rather expensive task and brought it closer to the Street 220. That said, even without the inclusion of ABS, customers preferred the bigger Avenger over the 180. But now, as the gap is more prominent, Bajaj bids to regain the market share with the new Avenger Street 160. In terms of design, the Avenger 160 is a replica of the model it replaces. For an untrained eye, the cosmetic differences between the two are limited to none. In a second or third look, you will find the new 160 badging, an ABS ring and a speed sensor on the rear wheel. Apart from that, the Avenger retains the design cues of its predecessor. The Avenger Street 160 comes powered with a 160.4cc motor that is capable of pushing out 14.8bhp and 13.5Nm of torque. This engine has been carried over from the NS160, and while the bore and stroke remain the same, the 2-valve cylinder head configuration has been borrowed from the Avenger 180. Right from the get-go, the difference in power delivery is barely noticeable. To read our extensive Bajaj Avenger Street 160 review Visit:- https://www.autox.com/ End
