With the Scout suffix, the Skoda Kodiaq gets a dose of ruggedness and off-road abilities
New Delhi, India – September 30, 2019
In October 2017, Skoda entered the premium SUV segment with the Kodiaq. Initially available in a single variant, Skoda introduced a top-spec L&K variant a little over a year in November 2018. This time around, Skoda has launched the third variant of the Kodiaq, the Scout. But the catch this time around is the added dose of ruggedness and off-road abilities. So, before we take it out for a spin in our Skoda Kodiaq Scout review, here's what to expect.
In essence, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout only gets a number of over the top changes to distinguish it from the standard variants. Breaking it down, there's black plastic cladding with metallic silver inserts on both the bumpers. The silver finish is carried over to the ORVMs and roof rails. A nifty change, though, is the redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels, which get a new dual-tone treatment. Also, for the first time, the Skoda moniker on the rear tailgate is replaced in favour of the brand's lettering. On the whole, the changes do ensure that the Kodiaq Scout looks different than the standard model, even to the uninitiated.
