ROCKFORD, Ill. - June 18, 2019 - PRLog -- The third book in a new series on Rockford, Illinois cemeteries was released on June 18th.  The book focuses on  two of Rockford's cemeteries, Arlington Memorial Park and Union Cemeteries. The book is by Gary Hill. It is a photo-heavy book, with extensive galleries of each cemetery along with some general information on each location and a short segment on one notable burial at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

The first book in the series was published on April 9th and was focused on Cedar Bluff and Greenwood Cemeteries. That book was similarly photo heavy. It was also done by Gary Hill, but that one also included contributions from Ernie Fuhr. On that one the galleries are rounded out by some bios of some of the notable burials and an article by Ernie Fuhr titled "The Ghouls of Greenwood."  The second book was released on April 23rd - which is World Book Day.  The book focuses on  two of Rockford's oldest remaining cemeteries, Guilford Turner and Guilford Union Cemeteries.  That one was solely by Gary Hill.

Originally scheduled for March, lingering snow in the area slowed the process because it created a snag with getting the photographs taken. Poplar Grove based Tales of Wonder and Dread Publishing is releasing the book series titled "Rockford's Final Resting Places." Going forward the series will continue its focus on cemeteries in Rockford. Each future book (as the first two) will feature a limited number of cemeteries. The fourth book is scheduled to be published on 815 Day - August 15th. .
