By: Thiel College Members of Greenville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3374 conducted the 21-gun salute honoring military service members in the flag courtyard outside of Thiel's (https://www.thiel.edu/) The Xi-Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Sigma's Military Heroes Appreciation Week also includes other events. Donations and the public are welcome at all events. • The Xi-Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Sigma will host a military movie night from 8-10 p.m. Tuesday, April 10 in Bly Hall at the Academic Center. The chapter is screening "Unbroken," which is the story of Kappa Sigma brother Louis Zamperini's life. • From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday a military recruiting event is in Weyers Lounge of the Howard Miller Student Center. • A Bowl-a-thon is from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday at Liberty Lanes. The fraternity will donate 20 percent of the proceeds to the Military Heroes Campaign. "I am asking…all to help the brothers of Kappa Sigma support and honor our veterans and military service people during our Military Heroes' Week," Kappa Sigma philanthropy chair Charlie Lichtenwalter '22, an accounting and finance major from Erie, Pa., said. "There is a full schedule of events planned that the entire community can participate in with donations being accepted at all times. All donations and proceeds from the event go to the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes' Campaign which helps current and former military service people and their families."
