Norse Commercial Services cut 40% of admin time using r2c Online
The connected r2c platform for vehicle maintenance and compliance has allowed Norse Commercial Services to substantially improve compliance and customer service levels, as well as streamline their productivity. Terry Carson, Workshop Manager at Norse's Norwich Headquarters, explained, "12 months ago we started rolling out the r2c Online software across our workshop network, and since then we've seen a whole range of benefits.
"Our top reason for going digital was compliance. Our Norwich workshop looks after our internal fleet of over 200 vehicles. We also maintain an additional 200 vehicles - including HGV, bus, plant and specialist equipment - for external customers, so we wanted a system that could help us look after all of it." The r2c platform automatically provides Norse Commercial Services with a maintenance plan for each asset type, with appropriate inspection sheets and service intervals.
Like many paper-based workshops, the business also felt it could do more to make efficiencies. Terry said, "Chasing paperwork took far too long. I personally spent over 8 hours a week just chasing inspection sheets and invoices, which isn't the best use of my time."
The system's unique connectivity has improved internal and external communication for Norse as the fleet and workshop operations can connect and collaborate effortlessly. Terry continued, "We now have better external supply chain management as all of our customers are notified instantly about their job updates and vehicle availability. They also have peace of mind as through r2c we have a uniform compliance process for all vehicles.
"We also know exactly what's going on with our internal fleet at all times. On my dashboard, I have everything I need right in front of me. I know if everything is ticking along as it should be, if vehicles have arrived okay, if we're on schedule, without even picking up the phone."
The Norwich workshop has also confirmed that the quality of their compliance documentation has improved, as customers digitally receive paperwork immediately through the system that is uniform, legible and quality checked. Terry added, "Our technicians love using the system. We were expecting resistance but the transition was smooth and the quality of their work is much better now."
"It's hard to quantify the time we've saved so far as the r2c platform has transformed all of our processes. Now that we have no spreadsheets to log or filing to do, plus the technicians aren't duplicating work, we're easily saving 40% of our week - and that time is now being put to better use."
Nick Walls, Managing Director at r2c Online, commented, "It's fantastic to hear of Norse Commercial Services' success since adopting the platform, and it's a great example of how r2c's connectivity can improve both internal and external work for workshops across the nation. We're looking forward to helping their business even further in the future."
