By: Thiel College "Black History Month events are centered on raising awareness of the minority culture on campus and recognizing the important contributions African-Americans made throughout history and continue to make today," Thiel College (https://www.thiel.edu/) Featured events include: • Harambee African Dance Youth Organization: • 19th OBC Soul Food Feast: 4–5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb, 24, Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center—Foods from the African American culture will be available for the campus to enjoy and to raise awareness for one of the many diverse cultures Thiel College has to offer. The cost is $10 for faculty and staff and a swipe for Thiel College students. The event is open to the public. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. • OBC Poetry Night: 7–8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, Sawhill-Georgian Room of the Howard Miller Student Center—Slam poet and spoken word artist from Youngstown, Ohio Doreen Devine Block will share her unique version of slam poetry and performing with the campus. • Consent Matters Presentation: OBC plans events throughout the last full week of February every year to celebrate Black History Month.
