-- The Wickford, Rhode Island based digital-native publishing initiative New Street Communications is celebrating the sale of its 30,000th audio book - a benchmark reached on Friday, January 11th. The firm currently has more than 80 titles in the marketplace, many of these available not only as audio editions but also as eBook and paper editions.
New Street founder and managing director Edward Renehan comments: "We're delighted with the results of our audio publishing program. In addition to issuing audio editions of the firm's own propriety content, New Street licenses audio rights from a range of major publishers, including Bloomsbury, McGraw Hill, History Press, Broadway Books/Random House, W.W. Norton, Clarkson Potter, and Harper Collins.
"Our audio program has grown rapidly to represent approximately 80% of our total annual revenue," says Renehan. "The bestsellers address topics related to cloud computing, data science, and project management. But we also offer everything from some of the best modern sailing narratives to outstanding, critically-acclaimed horror and science fiction."
New Street's audio editions are distributed worldwide via Audible, iTunes, and Amazon.
In addition to publishing audio books, eBooks, and paper editions, New Street also conducts an extensive consulting business featuring ghostwriting, editing, and book doctoring/coaching services along with superior self-publishing guidance when necessary. Recent clients have included the publications division of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.
