Immigration to USA – Hopes raised as Democrats win the House

HYDERABAD, India - Nov. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- he recent mid-term elections that were conducted this week in USA, were one of the major political events in the United States, especially as they were seen as the litmus test for President Donald Trump's harsh stance on both legal and illegal immigration. Ever since he joined office, President Trump has been launching a series of measures to curb immigration to USA, despite protests by many liberals and democrat candidates. Many of the wins by democrats at the state and local level will serve as a fodder for reigning in the policies designed to curb immigration to USA and also for limiting the Presidents penchant for executive orders.  Many policies will need to move through the House of Representatives before they can be passed into law.  Another area in which a democratic majority can positively influence immigration policy is via the means of oversight and the budget process. After gaining majority for the house, the Democrats will be in a position to conduct hearings on key issues and will be able to hold federal agencies answerable to their processes. Moreover the Democrats, who are more in favor of immigration will be in charge of House Panels which are likely to have an impact on immigration decisions.

The results are clearly an indicator of the pulse of the sentiment of the American people who have strongly voted in favor of an open border policy and less restrictive measures of immigration.
