Long Beach, California – Oct. 30, 2018 – Board of Directors announces the third elected president of The Clarissa Manuel Foundation, Shelia LeFridge. LeFridge brings over 40 years of management and administrative experience from the private and government sectors. She served over 15 years working inside a foundation, ten years of which was in various executive board positions.

LeFridge introduces the inaugural annual membership and donation drive event, Mingle and Merlot. This event offers a platform to interface with the community and share the foundation's objectives. This is also an opportunity to share the organization's vision as well as upcoming community initiatives with a goal of increasing membership and donations toward scholarships and event programming. LeFridge's vision is, "for Clarissa Manuel Foundation to become a highly valued community partner in the City of Long Beach, and neighboring communities, by expanding our capacity to positively impact minority families and the community through supportive education and programming."  The Clarissa Manuel Foundation is a public non-profit community charity focused on supporting, empowering and enriching the community through educational and enlightening programs. The Foundation focuses on three areas to attain these goals;

• Educational Academic Awareness
• Financial Independence
• Physical & Mental Well-Being

By focusing on these areas, the foundation will provide tools for the community to thrive in perhaps three of the most important parts of life: knowledge, finance and health. An educated community strives to create and build. A financially independent community creates wealth for itself and grows. A healthy community doesn't create a burden on itself or society as a whole.

The Clarissa Manuel Foundation is pleased to recognize our local sponsors of the Mingle and Merlot event as follow: Starbucks, Circle Marina Carwash, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Tabahani Book Circle, Emilio's Beverage Warehouse and Costco.
