LOS ANGELES - Oct. 30, 2018 - PRLog -- Today the ccMixter artist community rises up about its passion for a better world with the new album release 'Amplifiers' -- now available everywhere. At a time where politics divide people all over the world, this important collection of music is aimed to inspire humanity and compassion at the ballot box in the U.S. for the upcoming midterm elections. 'Amplifiers' features 13 genre-diverse tracks -- from Johnny-Cash-ish folk to electronic hardstyle, from 90s vibed alternative to upbeat hip-hop -- all aimed to energize awareness and unity in America and abroad.

With ccMixter as their megaphone, artists from around the world contributed original songs, spoken word pieces and mixes to the community's Amplifiers project. And with the expanse of open collaboration made possible by Creative Commons licenses, these musical messages are spreading to all corners of the digital world -- through a growing list of remixes and web videos that feature the music included on the album 'Amplifiers.'

"Music can change the world," remarked Emily Richards, CEO of ArtisTech Media, the company that operates ccMixter.org. "Conversations between differently minded folks today can be tense and challenging, but music, well, it can navigate around the ego, and speak straight to the soul. With this album, our collective hearts are earnestly reaching out to others through our art."

The collection begins with 'Lay Me Down,' an original song by Admiral Bob, that is mixed and produced by Zep Hurme. The track features an uplifting pop-treatment that frames soul-wrenching lyrics describing the #MeToo experience of a child. 'Amplify the Light' shines a way for hope in a socio-political atmosphere of anger and division with Raja_ffm's electronic world music production of Madam Snowflake's original anthem. 'Get Out to Vote' reminds us why voting really matters via Piero Peluche's punky 80s-style dance remix of Kara Square's lesson on democracy.

"As soon as this project launched on ccMixter, I felt compelled to write a song about voting," Kara Square shared. "So many people feel disenfranchised in America and around the world. So many young people feel like voting just doesn't matter. 'Get Out to Vote' is my attempt to answer the question: why should I vote? Writing this song helped remind me that voting is the cornerstone of democracy. I am grateful that ccMixter gave me a platform to share this sentiment and that Piero Peluche crafted such a fun, high-energy arrangement."

'Amplifiers' was conceived by the international ccMixter music community in a uniquely collaborative manner. Vocalists recorded and shared their original songs and poems, while instrumentalists shared their melodies, rhythms and stems, and producers in the community then created a long list of tracks built around common themes of political activism and hope. Michelle Denise Norton contributed the cover art by responding to ccMixter's call for a volunteer visual artist. She used the playlist from the Amplifiers project as her inspiration. Just by listening, you amplify the possibility of a better future built on harmony -- for us all.
