New Crowdsourced Bar Food and Drink Specials Web App Soft-Launched

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan - Sept. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- Uturnr Software Corporation, a web and mobile development startup in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan soft-launched its first product, Specials.lol on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Specials.lol aims to be the best place to view up-to-date listings of food and drink deals at local bars. There are a variety of challenges that eager bar patrons may face when looking for wing nights and happy hours in their area. Many local bar special websites list incorrect or outdated bar specials. In some areas, there may be no centralized place to view specials listings. Specials.lol aims to solve these problems by harnessing the power of the crowd.

Whether a bar customer or employee, any user can anonymously list specials on the web app. Each special listed can then be voted on by  other users to help weed out inaccurate or outdated deals, as well as to promote patrons' favourite deals. Data on when the special was added, voting ratios, and information on the most recent vote is also made available.

When a user visits Specials.lol, upon entering their location, they are presented with a list of nearby bars, sorted by distance. Under each bar is a list of specials that are available on the current day. Filters can be applied to narrow down the specials shown based on the type (food, drink, or both), the days and times the specials are available, and whether the specials contain particular text.

The goals of the soft launch of Specials.lol are to collect user feedback and to start the experiment of building a user-submitted database of global food and drink specials, while continuing to improve the features  and performance of the web app and building native mobile apps.
