Rescue Pit to Host Third Annual Gala

By: Rescue Pit, Inc.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Jan. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Rescue Pit, a local not-for-profit dog rescue in Rochester, NY, has a lot to celebrate this year--and celebrate it will--at its third annual gala on Saturday, January 27th at the Rochester Museum and Science Center.

This red carpet event begins at 6 p.m. and includes a buffet dinner (with vegan options), a free signature cocktail, dancing, and a silent auction. In addition, Rescue Pit founders, Stephen DeVay and John Cicolella, will provide a brief review of the organization's third year of operation, celebrate its work, and make some exciting announcements for 2018. The Gala represents Rescue Pit's largest fundraiser of the year.

The rescue had an eventful 2017, launching its Force-Free Pledge to advocate for positive reinforcement training methods and rally against the use of painful aversives like shock and prong collars, electric fences, and dominance training. In addition, Rescue Pit teamed up with the Willow Domestic Violence Center to ensure sanctuary not only for domestic violence survivors but for their pets as well.

With its amazing network of foster homes, Rescue Pit has saved two litters of puppies, multiple adolescent dogs, and secured safe and loving forever homes for 26 dogs in 2017 alone. To date, Rescue Pit has worked with hundreds of dogs and families in the Rochester area to provide education and resources to improve the lives of pets and their owners.

Tickets for the event are $75 and the proceeds go directly to helping save local dogs (available at For more information about Rescue Pit, or to make a tax-deductible donation, visit
