DETROIT - Dec. 21, 2017 - PRLog -- Ida Byrd-Hill, president of Uplift, Inc. states , "People can't live without the internet." There were 5 billion devices on the internet in 2017. Researchers forecast there will 50 billion devices by 2020. The internet is automating the world so quickly, companies are looking for "NEW COLLAR" workers. New Collar Workers have IT skills documented by industry certification rather than a college degree.These jobs are paying $19 to $40 per hour which is equivalent to $39,520 to $83,200 annually.

Uplift, Inc., a Cisco Networking Academy and OPEN IT SCHOOL, is looking for 5000 Detroiters to register for a FREE Introduction of IoT (Internet of Things) class to learn how the IoT is growing cyber security and how to  prepare for these NEW COLLAR job opportunities.

Detroit residents will "ATTEND" classes on their smartphone, tablet, laptop and desktop, reading the lectures and watching videos. Kickoff orientation, Experiential Learning Labs and tutoring will occur at 7 Detroit Public Library locations during designated weeks.  This OPEN IT SCHOOL format provides residents, who are time challenged, with maximum flexibility  to secure certification that leads to high paying IT jobs.
