ChatMeHappy.com Debuts Online to Help Connect Like-minded Travelers in Real Time
With the goal of eradicating the feeling of loneliness and isolation often experienced amongst travelers, one social media site aims to use smartphones as a way for strangers to connect and communicate offline.
"I noticed, as we all have, that people don't actually verbally communicate as much as they used to," explains Peter Watkin, who is the owner and founder ChatMeHappy.com. "This doesn't necessarily mean people don't want human contact, they simply tend to shy away from it by using their phone as a security blanket."
With this in mind, Watkin crafted ChatMeHappy, which works by connecting travelers in real time through its social and interactive online network. The site is focused on helping users meet new people while traveling solo or working by linking them through their location, shared language, interests and shared circumstances––
Users can find like-minded travelersonline several ways. By using the world map users can select their desired language, displaying only those that speak that language. Blue dots represent males and pink dots represent female members. They can then contact the other person who may be nearby and potentially meet up, or if they are further away, simply have a chat through the site's messaging system.
The second way to make it easy for people to meet others in a social or sporting capacity is the 'Fun Things to Do Together' section. People can search locally and join an activity, or create their own private or public event. Participants can discuss the activity as a group or can choose to chat individually.
Chat Me Happy also offers personal email, site notifications, and connectivity for members––making it possible to invite people to events via Facebook, email or directly with other members on the site. Event activities can be updated with photos, websites and even shared on social media. Plus, any activity can be a one-off event or can run on a regular basis, allowing people to remain in contact long-term.
The site also features a 'missed connections' section where people can search or leave a message for someone they may have briefly met and felt there was a mutual attraction but are too shy to ask for contact details, or perhaps the circumstances were not right to do so.
For safety and security, any user answering a message can pose a question that only the person they met will know the answer to––if they are still not satisfied but think it really is them, they can converse via the site.
"Meeting people while traveling alone is now easier and more secure than ever," adds Watkin. "Connect with someone new for coffee, find someone that speaks your language wherever they are or even find a date––the possibilities are endless with ChatMeHappy."
Users can access the site via smartphone, tablet or computer to sign up where they can immediately begin to chat with travelers for free online from around the globe at ChatMeHappy instantly. To learn more or to sign up, visit: www.chatmehappy.com.
Founded in 2017, ChatMeHappy is the ultimate social media platform for travelers who can find, chat with and even date people who speak their own language. The site was launched by Swiss resident, Peter Watkin–having grown up in various countries, Zambia, Vanuatu and the UK, Watkin saw a need for travelers to connect with one another while being abroad in real time. He developed ChatMeHappy with the goal of users to make real offline connections with like-minded individuals like them that share similar interests or speak the same language––helping bring the online social aspect to the real world to connect strangers and develop new relationships with others like them around the globe.
