By: Community Church of Tellico Village The congregation responded and pastor Phillips put his razor where his mouth was (figuratively speaking). Pastor Phillip's challenge was if the $20,000 goal was met by the congregation he would shave his beard. Dr. Steven Prevatte, Pastor of Congregational Care at The Community Church At Tellico Village says, "The $20,000 raised is the most we have ever donated to the Child's Advocacy Center. I am so pleased our generous congregation did this." In the accompanying photo, Millie Bruner, Joyce Peterson and Claire Donelson representing the Child Advocacy Center of the 9th Judicial District of Tennessee are shown receiving a check in the amount of $20,000 from Pastor Prevatte. Prior to the presentation of the check, a video was presented to the congregation that dramatized the preparation the colleagues of Pastor Phillips went through in finding the appropriate shaving implements required to shave his burly beard. https://youtu.be/ Located in Lenoir City, Tennessee The Child's Advocacy Center of the 9th Judicial District of Tennessee serves children that have been identified by the Department of Children's Services as having been severely physically and/or sexually abused in Loudon, Meigs, Morgan and Roane counties. More About the Community Church at Tellico Village: https://www.tellicochurch.com/ Located at 130 Chota Lane, Tellico Village, TN our services our at 8:00 AM and 10:15 AM on Sunday. We call ourselves a "community" church because we believe Jesus made himself available to the whole world-not just a little group of select people. We're not overly trouble by folks who come to us with different beliefs, ideas, or experiences. We find reason to "commune" with each other not because we all think or believe alike, but because we are all seeking the same thing – a Way to a better world, a Truth that sets people free, and a Life that is abundantly full and meaningful.
