SOL Hosts 12th Annual Beers, Brats and Bras

DENVER - Feb. 2, 2017 - PRLog -- "It's a little unexpected but it works," says Cindy Johnson, co-founder of Denver's SOL, the largest women-owned, independent bra retailer in the U.S.

Referring to its 12^th Annual Beers, Brats and Bras event, co-owners and sisters Cindy Johnson and Jeanie Peterson say that this event draws men, as much as women, to the store. The event takes place on Feb. 11 and 12 at SOL's new location off 6^th and Milwaukee (3010 East 6^th Avenue), from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Established in 2005, the event was created with a dual purpose: create a comfortable, approachable environment where men can shop for lingerie with their loved ones; and support Denver's community organizations through proceed donations. The event is expected to draw 250 people this year and proceeds benefit the Morgan Adams Foundation, a nonprofit organization serving children affected by cancer—just a component of the store's "soulful" community mission, giving back to local organizations that help women and children.

"This event gathers our 'SOL sisters—and brothers' together for a fun day of shopping, connecting and eating," Peterson said.  "While the construction and ideals behind lingerie stores are inherently female-oriented, this event provides a cultural shift in the often nuanced environment of lingerie shopping for men—for the better. By making the shopping experience approachable and fun for couples, they can experience SOL as it was meant to be:  a destination to help women and men feel confident in their own skin."

The multi-faceted event will include t-shirt, hat and koozie giveaways, a spirits tasting from Downslope Distilling, corn hole games—and, of course, lingerie shopping. Brats are provided by local vendor Mirsad Mutic of Mutic Commissary and will be serving from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. German beer company Paulaner (http://paulanerhpusa.com) will be pouring its signature craft brews.
