Bro4u is Now Government Certified Rain Water Harvesting Service Provider

BANGALORE, India - Dec. 23, 2016 - PRLog -- Karnataka state Council for Science and technology (K.S.C.S.T) conducted it's 71st Training programme on Rainwater Harvesting (RWH). Bro4u, a Bangalore's most loved Home Service App was honoured to be a part of this programme on December 22, 2016.

This training was led by Shri A.R Shivakumar, Principal Investigator- RWH Cell, K.S.C.S.T.  Where he discussed what is RWH is all about, methods of RWH, benefits of RWH and many more topics was covered. According to Mr. Shivakumar- " Water is the most important part modern civilization and due to population growth and unscientific methods of water usage  there are high chances of facing scarcity of water in future days Conservation of water and Rainwater harvesting are the  keys for the damage control"

Adding on to his points speaker also mentions about Bangalore which draws water from river Cauvery, about 100 km away incurring huge financial costs. Water flows against gravitational force from Cauvery, and is pumped at various stages before reaching Bangalore. Thus, Cauvery travels a distance of 100km to a height of 500mts against gravity using 71 mw of electricity. A huge amount of Rs.25 crore is being paid as power charges every month, but Bangalore still faces an acute deficit of water supply against the total demand.

Hence, BWSSB has drilled a large number of bore wells for alternative water supply. In addition, citizens also drill private bore wells in order to ensure reliable supply of water. This has resulted not only in the rapid increase of the number of bore wells throughout Bangalore, but also overexploitation of groundwater. It is estimated that currently the number of bore wells in Bangalore is around 2 lakhs. The groundwater level has receded by about 10mts between 1978 and 2003 (Amruthavarshini, 2012). Several defunct wells and failed (dry) bore-wells can be seen throughout the length and breadth of Bangalore.

So to decrease the scarcity of water BWSSB (Water Board of Bangalore) have come up with Rainwater harvesting structure which says the site dimensions from (40x60) and further should mandatory construct a Rainwater harvesting plans to their plots.
