Greco Home Design Makes its Art Licensing Debut at the Spring Fair

BIRMINGHAM, U.K. - Dec. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- Greco Home Design will make its art licensing debut at the Spring Fair, taking place at the Birmingham National Exhibition Center, 5-9 February 2017.

Greco Home Design will be showcasing its Country, Mediterranean and Coastal design and photographic collections based on the extensive archive of the company´s founder and creative director, Janet Greco.

Janet has been a photographer since 1980 and recently completed her master´s degree in photography and design at Elisava in Barcelona.

The new collections available for licensing are edgy, contemporary, clean and elegant. The focus is on beautiful coastal landscapes and floral themes together with coordinating details that work together to accent the home.

Janet´s inspiration comes from her childhood memories of home. The new line continues the ethic and work tradition of her father who was an interior decorator specializing in slipcovers, draperies and bed spreads.

Growing up in southern New Jersey, Janet´s was a home filled with hundreds of heavy textile sample books that her father would bring to his customer´s homes so they could select the fabrics and patterns for their slipcovers and drapes. She would often go with him.

Janet says, "As a kid I was constantly exposed to textile patterns. A feature of each of our homes was a sewing workshop including a huge table where fabric would be cut. My mother and my aunt Rose worked tirelessly in that shop, sewing, ironing and finishing off each job. I used to like cleaning up the machines, and learned to sew cording at an early age to help out."

"My parents ran their business for over 50 years and they are both now retired and in their 90s. To dedicate my new collections to this theme just feels right. When I was 21", Janet says, "I left to work in the UK and then made my career in the TV industry. I´ve lived in five countries and so my definition of "home" is quite broad. Everything in the new line 100% inspired by home, digging back into childhood up to the present day. That spans a lot of experiences and memories."

A native of New Jersey, for the past 15 years Janet has been based on the Mediterranean island of Menorca and is currently based in Barcelona.
