PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Oct. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- WHAT:          A celebration of manufacturing in Michigan as the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center marks 25 years of service and opens new facility.

WHO:          U.S. Senator Gary Peters to speak about why manufacturing is vital to Michigan's economy. Congressman Dave Trott, State Senator Patrick Colbeck, State Representative Kurt Heise and other public officials along with clients, partners and those passionate about manufacturing in Michigan will attend.

WHEN:          Friday, October 21, with ribbon cutting at 2pm

WHERE:          Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, 45501 Helm St., Plymouth, MI.

WHY:          The event celebrates the opening of The Center's new state-of-the-art facility, the unveiling of their new brand, and a quarter century of making Michigan manufacturers stronger, more competitive and more successful.

There were 598,000 manufacturing employees in Michigan in 2015, representing 14% of the workforce and accounting for 19% of the total output in the state.

In the past year, the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center worked with 310 businesses which resulted in:

• $120 million in created sales
• $279 million in retained sales
• $49 million in cost savings
• 2,453 jobs created/retained
• $144 million in investments made
