NEWTON, N.J. - Aug. 30, 2016 - PRLog -- The Tree of Health Center (TTOHC) proudly welcomes drumming circle and gong bath facilitator, David Karlberg, to their natural healing team.  Gong baths can be extremely relaxing, healing, and transporting; often taking you on a journey as if in a dream or trance. Drumming circles create a feeling of connectedness with yourself and with others in the group.

"When I first saw a drum circle and sat down, I saw how easy it was to play.  It was incredibly freeing and gratifying and fulfilled my dream of making music.  It helps you stay in the present moment.  It's hard to worry about other things when you're having fun drumming," says Karlberg.

Drumming is deeply relaxing and makes the drummer happy by releasing endorphins and increasing alpha waves in the brain.  It can also be a distraction from chronic pain because of the social connections and the music.  Studies show it can increase a person's T-cells to create a healthier immune response, either because of the fun and relaxation or the music and the patterns.

In a low pressure environment, you will learn the skills and techniques to make music with your drum, using rhythmic games, improvisation, songs and traditional rhythms to create an evening of fun, creativity and self-discovery.

Gong baths introduce you to a part of yourself you may have forgotten.  They also help to heal your resting, digesting nervous system. "The first time I led a gong bath, people loved it, asking when I would do it again. That's why I keep doing it," says Karlberg.

After he was diagnosed with severe coronary artery disease, David played gongs every day for six months.  It lifted his energy and his spirits and kept him relaxed and focused.  The sound of the gongs made a big difference in the way he thought about his future, giving him hope and helping him to be positive during a very scary time.

In a relaxing oasis of warmth, make yourself comfortable as David takes you on a vibrational journey of discovery and peace.

Drumming Circles occur on the first Saturday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Bring your own drum, or use one at TTOHC. Gong Baths occur on the third Saturday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through TTOHC's website at ttohc.com.
