Another Great Taste Award for Beechwood Fine Foods

TRING, U.K. - Aug. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Sarah Murray - owner of the Beechwood Fine Foods' farm shop in the market town of Tring, Hertfordshire, with husband Toby - has once again received a Great Taste Award, this time for 'Sarah's Traditional Fruit Chutney'.

Of the 10,000 products submitted and judged by more than 500 palates, Sarah's Traditional Fruit Chutney achieved one of the much sought-after stars.  The judges' commented, "A nice consistency to this Chutney. The aroma is rich and molasses like with spicing. The flavour is intense with the sweetness and acidity well balanced".

The 2016 award follows Sarah's success in both 2013 and 2014, when she won numerous awards for her Victoria Plum Jam, Boozy Berry Jam, Old Doverhouse Chutney and Gooseberry and Elderflower Jam; all part of the Beechwood own brand, homemade range of jams, chutneys and preserves and all available for sale at the Beechwood café deli in Frogmore Street, just off Tring High Street.

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, of which Beechwood Fine Foods is a member, is the acknowledged benchmark for specialty food and drink in the UK. It has been described as "the Oscars of the food world and the epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize".  The Great Taste logo is the sign of quality that consumers can trust when buying food and drink.

Judging took place across the UK and Ireland, including many sessions at the Guild HQ in Gillingham, Dorset, as well as several other Dorset venues.

Winning is extremely important to the producers as it differentiates their products from their competitors.  Sarah added, "The judges are looking for great texture and appearance. They judge the quality of ingredients and how well the entrants have put the food or drink together. But above all, they are looking for truly great taste. I'm absolutely delighted with this new award; it makes all the hard work worth it!  Both Toby and I are passionate about the quality and provenance of the foods we offer our customers and the award of Great Taste stamps a seal of approval on our efforts."
