Care Award Recipient Honored for Counsel, Service to Community

TUSTIN, Calif. - July 18, 2016 - PRLog -- For most of his adult life, Ken Krikac has held professional positions dedicated to serving others. He has been a lifeguard, a rescue boat captain, a teacher and currently is a pastor at Calvary Chapel Pacific Hills (http://www.ccpacifichills.org/) in Aliso Viejo and chaplain at the Orange County Fire Authority (http://www.ocfa.org/). During Krikac's 30 years of ministry, he has made a difference in the lives of countless Orange County residents by counseling them during their most difficult hours. His selfless attitude and genuine care for the well-being of the community has led to Krikac's recognition as the July/August winner of Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary (http://www.dignitymemorial.com/fairhaven-memorial-park-mortuary/en-us/index.page)'s Oliver Halsell Care Award.

Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary, with facilities in Santa Ana (http://www.dignitymemorial.com/fairhaven-memorial-park-mo...) and Mission Viejo (http://www.dignitymemorial.com/fairhaven-memorial-park-mortuary), started the Oliver Halsell Care Awards honoree program in 2012 to highlight citizens who have shown extraordinary compassion in their occupation and community, enriching the lives of those they assist.

"Every day, I strive to improve the lives of others, whether through marriage counseling, stress management assistance for first responders, baptism officiating, ministry leadership and more," said Krikac. "I am filled with happiness whenever I am able to help my community, and to be chosen as a Fairhaven Care Award recipient for how I choose to live my life is a huge honor."

As a fire chaplain, Krikac counsels first responders and ensures that they are alert and prepared when caring for the community. In his role as a pastor, he is entrusted by families during a variety of emotional and spiritual events in their lives. Despite a busy schedule, Krikac also is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Talbot Theological Seminary. A proud father, he resides in Rancho Santa Margarita with his wife, Lindsay.

In November, Krikac will be honored at Fairhaven's Oliver Halsell Care Awards ceremony at the organization's Mission Viejo facility. The award ceremony highlights a year's worth of accomplishments within Orange County. Additionally, Fairhaven will make a donation on his behalf to his chosen charity, CHOC Children's Foundation.
