Fairhaven Memorial Steps Up As Diamond Sponsor Of Seniorserv Senior Care Hero Awards
Dignity's Bob Dowson Receives Lifetime Achievement Award at 8th annual gala on October 20
Senior advocate and KTLA-TV morning news personality Henry DiCarlo is returning as the evening's dynamic emcee. In addition to the awards, a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, dinner and entertainment will round out the night. Joining Dowson as key recipients are Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait, Senior Care Hero Humanitarian, and Irvine Health Foundation, Senior Care Innovator.
The Senior Care Hero Awards, at the City National Grove of Anaheim, is SeniorServ's only fundraiser of the year. The event's dual purpose is to spotlight deserving individuals who rarely are acknowledged for their dedicated and compassionate care of seniors and to raise critically needed funds to enable SeniorServ to provide more programs and services that reduce hunger and improve wellness for at-risk older adults, enabling them to live in their own homes and communities. SeniorServ is the largest nonprofit Meals on Wheels and senior nutrition provider in Orange County.
Holly Hagler, President and CEO of SeniorServ, expressed her gratitude: "Thanks to all of you at Fairhaven for your generous hearts. Every dollar you contribute to SeniorServ makes a difference to struggling seniors, enabling them to live with independence in the homes and communities they love. We are grateful to all of you!"
"This is our first involvement with the Senior Care Hero Awards although we have been well aware of the incredibly important work done by SeniorServ throughout Orange County on behalf of seniors in need," said Dowson. "It was a natural fit to support this event in a meaningful way because our values are so closely aligned with those of SeniorServ. Respect, Integrity, Service Excellence and Building Enduring Relationships – these are the values that drive everything we do."
Families throughout Orange County have known these values as Fairhaven's two locations provide cin comprehensive services and convenient access throughout the region. The Santa Ana location has been a mainstay in Orange County for more than a century, dating back to its founding in 1911. The newer Mission Viejo location also is quickly earning a reputation of excellence and community involvement. Both locations host numerous events onsite for the public at no charge.
SeniorServ's gala is considered the region's biggest and most glamorous awards program. During the summer, several People's Choice Hero categories allowed the public to nominate favorite deserving individuals, including Veteran, Family Member and Volunteer, and winners were selected through online voting. Industry recipients were selected by SeniorServ's prestigious Academy of Leaders. Altogether, more than 80 individuals will receive recognition at the gala.
