Fairhaven Memorial Steps Up As Diamond Sponsor Of Seniorserv Senior Care Hero Awards

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Oct. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- The SeniorServ red-carpet gala on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Anaheim will honor unsung heroes in the world of senior care, including the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Bob Dowson, Managing Director of the Orange County and major San Diego County locations of Dignity Memorial. Two Dignity Memorial locations, Fairhaven Memorial Park & Mortuary in Santa Ana and Fairhaven Memorial Services in Mission Viejo, together are the proud Diamond Sponsor of the eighth annual awards evening.

Senior advocate and KTLA-TV morning news personality Henry DiCarlo is returning as the evening's dynamic emcee. In addition to the awards, a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, dinner and entertainment will round out the night. Joining Dowson as key recipients are Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait, Senior Care Hero Humanitarian, and Irvine Health Foundation, Senior Care Innovator.

The Senior Care Hero Awards, at the City National Grove of Anaheim, is SeniorServ's only fundraiser of the year. The event's dual purpose is to spotlight deserving individuals who rarely are acknowledged for their dedicated and compassionate care of seniors and to raise critically needed funds to enable SeniorServ to provide more programs and services that reduce hunger and improve wellness for at-risk older adults, enabling them to live in their own homes and communities. SeniorServ is the largest nonprofit Meals on Wheels and senior nutrition provider in Orange County.

SeniorServ's gala is considered the region's biggest and most glamorous awards program. During the summer, several People's Choice Hero categories allowed the public to nominate favorite deserving individuals, including Veteran, Family Member and Volunteer, and winners were selected through online voting. Industry recipients were selected by SeniorServ's prestigious Academy of Leaders. Altogether, more than 80 individuals will receive recognition at the gala.
