INDORE, India - June 24, 2016 - PRLog -- To stop the hike in Chana prices, Indian Govern has banned the Chana Vayda few weeks earlier, but it couldn't affect the Chana's price in physical market. Chana price is still holding at 7000 rupees per quintal on physical market. In such situation, banning Vayda wouldn't be enough to stop Chana price, the Government needs to take some big steps.

Price Above 6800 in Wholesale Market
Price of Chana is still holding above 6800 rupees per quintal in the Wholesale market of India's 2nd biggest Chana productive state Rajasthan. In the Nohar Market of Rajasthan Chana is at 6833 rupees per quintal, 6700 in Jaipur and 6650 in Jodhpur. According to the Rajasthan's Chana farmers, due to the less Chana's crop production Chana's price is up this season and farmers are getting a good price for Chana.

Less Incoming of Chana in Delhi, Price 7000 Rupees Quintal
Less Chana production in one state is parallely affecting the Chana price in other states. In the Lawrence road from Delhi, Chana is at 7000 rupees per quintal. According to the Chana traders, because of the less incomings the Chana prices are not coming down in Delhi. Instead of 40-50 only 30 Chana trucks have arrived in Delhi. A trader says, the first lot of imported Chana from Tanzania and Australia will arrive in November and December in Delhi and after that Chana's price will take ease. Due to the low demand, the Chana's price are not going above 7000

SEBI Had Banned Chana Vayda

To put a break on the continuously increasing price of Dals, Sebi had banned the new contracts of Chana vayda on 16th June. In the Dal's category, future trading is only possible in Chana. In Vayda Market, Chana's price has been hiked up by 62% in last 3 months. Among all other dals, Chana dal is the one having highest cost.

Government Has Increased Production Target Expectation

In the 3rd assumption, the Government has increased the Chana's production. In 2014 -15, 73.3 lakh ton Chana has been produced in the country, while in 2015-16 the target has been increased to 74.8 lakh ton. However, the traders are expecting the drop in the production of Chana.
