SAN FRANCISCO - June 2, 2016 - PRLog -- Camfed (Campaign for Female Education) has announced that they have hired Lea Hamilton as their new Digital Marketing Officer. She will work out of the organization's US office in San Francisco.

Lea will help increase website traffic, drive donor acquisition, and grow the organization's awareness and influence through digital campaigns and day-to-day social platform management.

Lea brings years of experience in communications, marketing, and digital marketing from her tenures at Access Emante and Weber Shandwick.

"We are eager to see how Lea will use her experience to further elevate Camfed in the digital realm, in support of our goal to educate one million more girls in Africa by 2020," said Brooke Hutchinson, Co-Director of Camfed USA.

Camfed supports girls to go to school and succeed, while empowering those young women graduates to then step up as leaders of change. Since 1993, Camfed has directly supported more than 1.6 million children though school. The organization is on track to educate one million more by the year 2020.

About Camfed

Camfed is an international non-profit organization tackling poverty and inequality by supporting girls to go to school and succeed, and empowering young women to step up as leaders of change. Camfed invests in girls and women in the poorest rural communities in sub-Saharan Africa, where girls face acute disadvantage, and where their education has transformative potential. Camfed not only supports girls and young women through school, but also on to new lives as entrepreneurs and community leaders. To complete the "virtuous cycle," and create sustainable change, graduating students become CAMA alumnae, many of whom return to school to train and mentor new generations of students. Since 1993, Camfed's innovative community-led education programs have benefited nearly 4 million children in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania and Malawi. In 2014, Camfed was recognized by the OECD for best practice in taking development innovation to scale.
